Fashion: In My Flyy Tee

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

I’ve realized recently that I need to stock up on more t-shirts. What makes this task impossible is that I’m all about exclusivity. I hate rocking what another chick has on and wearing t-shirts is so universal. But I’ve found some lines which cater to my taste: femine, sexy, and just flyy. I’ll let you in on my secret:

“Obsession” tee
The site has re-launched with a new holiday collection. This line caters to the ladies who know they are rated a ten. The name alone is reason for me to want to rock it.

“HBIC” tee
“A crime for all seasons” is their tagline. This label is for the girl who loves to create controversy. My favorite t-shirt from them is one I own, a manicured hand saying “fuck you”, but the middle finger is cleverly a Barbie doll.

“Jane” tee
This line celebrates the “boss bitches” (their words not mine) in all of us. It has expanded to a full brand spanning from jeans to bikinis. Check out an interview with the founder here.

Street Style Series: Toronto, Canada

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Welcome all to another one of my blogisodes on international street style. Today I am featuring our neighbors over in Toronto. After some research I came to a pretty strong conclusion that the street style consistently sticks to a hipster/preppy mix. Chicks wear lots of stripes and tights and bright colored tops. Pretty much all of the guys have a more feminine style and tend to wear tighter pants than most of the girls. They also tend to wear a lot of cashmere sweaters and cropped jackets.

Needless to say I am VERY happy I don’t live there because guys that dress like that are totally not my type. Honestly what’s with the hand pose in the bottom left picture? Although I don’t have a picture of one…I think it would be too much to have to look at….MANPURSES are all over Toronto. Unless guys are going to the gym or carrying their girl’s purse for her (which is still really pathetic) they should NOT carry bags, a backpack is sufficient. Same thing goes for chicks in ties…just don’t go there. These people need help…call the fashion police.

Stay Tuned.

Peace.

Street Style Series: Stockholm, Sweden

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

I’ve decided to kick off a new series of insight into the fashion world overseas. Americans love their Uggs, Nike Dunks, IPods and what have you…but I wonder if we are influential or influenced by other regions of our world. We obviously know Milan, Paris, and Hong Kong are the biggies but… I would like to look deeper into unseen fashion realms. So to kick it off I give you street style of the beautiful people of Sweden’s capital Stockholm.  Almost a quarter of Sweden’s total population resides in this gorgeous city.

And here are examples of their street style:

After much research I have found that major trends now in Stockholm include lots and lots of tights of all different types and styles…and Swedes dig the side ponytail. I can’t wait till the day side ponytails are brought back in the US so that I will have endless entertainment…some trends make me giggle.

Peace,

Pixelated Fashion

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

So it’s all the rage from the runway to the street nowadays…
it’s a dotted complex known as pixelated fashion. Just as every girl is
stocking up on their Ed Hardy gear a new fashion rolls on in…and honestly
that’s why I don’t even bother with trends…but I love to watch how devoted
people are to them, I find it quite humorous. I will admit there are some
trends I love and some I hate. This one In particular I do love…mixing fashion
with illusion is a pretty sick concept. Here we have one example for men’s
design by Volcom.

And here we have some women’s designs by Kidrobot, and
DesignByHumans.com

Let me know what you think fashion
enthusiasts…

Peace ***Dre***
