The Evolution Begins with $85

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Sneakers have been one of the most popular accessories for the Hip Hop Culture, and now Jay- Z is releasing his new kicks under the Rocawear Label called the R+ “Evolution” and with a price of $85, it makes the sneaker about $130 cheaper than the Nike Air Yeezy.

Cinco De Mayo

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Well it’s the 5th of May also known as Cinco De Mayo. Today is known not only for the Mexican celebration/parties and alcohol but now for Sneakers thanks the Nike and its sub division company Jordan.  On May 2, 2009 while the country was trying to get their hands on the Air Yeezy’s, the rest of America was forced to look elsewhere for new kicks.

Hence the Air Jordan 1’s (Cinco De Mayo) Limited release sneaker. The two pairs of sneakers were inspired by the Mexican Flag, which for $100 per pair you might as well grab both. For those of you who missed out and wanted to get your hands on the (Tribe Called Quest) 1’s this has the same color scheme so it would be a good alternative, which is just a thought.

MAY-DAY!!!

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

yeezy2

What is going on all you Sneaker Heads, It’s the S.R. back on Amalgam Digital’s Blog to inform you about the big week ahead of us with sneakers. May is going to be a great month for new releases and retro kicks.

But first lets go back to early April, where I know the die-hard sneaker head tried to get their hands on Kanye’s Nike Air Yeezy, yet a lot of you left empty handed in Chi-town. Well now you have another chance to get a hold of the second of three releases, the black Air Yeezy’s on Saturday, May 2nd.

House of Hoops, Footlocker and Footaction on 34th Street in New York, will be releasing the limited edition sneaker on Saturday and I believe the turnout is going to be if not as big as the NYC Pigeon Dunks release, than bigger. I haven’t heard any stories yet but I do know that soon enough people are going to attempt to camp out to try to get their hands on the kicks. The Air Yeezy is going to retail for $215.00, Good luck in trying to get your hands on a pair.

But if you are not fortunate on getting your hands on a pair, this is your chance to getting or even saving up for a couple of pairs of kicks that get released in May. Here is a small list of Jordans that should be available the first couple of days in May.

* Air Jordan 1 Retro High Strap (Limited Release)

       Midnight Navy/Varsity Red-Sail $110.00

* Air Jordan 1 Retro High (Limited Release)

       Black/Laser Blue $100.00

* Air Jordan 1 Retro (Limited Release)

Cinco De Mayo (Black or White) $100.00

Also I am still looking for the “Sneakerhead of the Week” where you will be featured on AmalgamDigital.com Blog written by me Suga Ramos. If you get your hands on the Air Yeezy’s, I would like you to send an email with your picture also for the rest of you feel free to send your Submissions to Sneakers.Amalgam@gmail.com and lets see who the “Sneakerhead of the Week” will be for the Week of May 4th.

Calling All Sneaker Heads, Calling All Sneaker Heads….

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

clip_image0021

Do you have a substantial amount of sneakers still in their boxes? Have you ever stood in line over night to get a pair of kicks? Have you ever gone hunting for sneakers in different states or even countries? Have you bought sneakers on ebay for upwards of $800 plus? Do you still keep your beaters? Do you own Just for Kicks? If you answered yes to the majority of these questions then you are just addicted! No, but seriously you are part of a culture that has grown and continues to grow every year if not month.

Let me introduce myself, my name is “SugaRamos” don’t worry about how I got the name… I’ve been a “sneaker head” for quite a bit and my collection continues to grow and grow monthly if not weekly. I started with Jordans, Air Forces and Chucks, now I just collect and buy anything that looks appealing to the eye.

So that was just a bit about me. But I am here calling all Sneaker Heads for one purpose, to talk about what we know best, Sneakers! My Idea is to have you all involved as to where to go for exclusives, where to go to find a real bargain, what is going to be released and when, and to show off your collection. This weekly blog will involve not only what I have to say but also what you have to say and even pictures of you and your collection.

Sneakers have become the ultimate accessory and I hope that you will be able to share with others your love for this culture.

Excuse Me….All Girls Don’t Wear Pink!

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

So my last two blogs have been specifically geared towards women, so I
figured I’d keep it up because it’s a nice aspect to the blog. I’m not a
hardcore feminist or anything but us women deserve some attention too. I’ve
been shopping around for some Nike SB Dunk Highs lately and sadly realized that
there aren’t too many specifically women releases. It is possible to own a pair
of men’s, if you didn’t already know, you can find your size in men’s by
subtracting a size and a half. This is also somewhat difficult to deal with
because that would make me a size 7, and you cannot find ANY size 7’s in any
boutique anywhere. Ordering offline is out of the question because any
collector knows that the mark up is absolutely ridiculous online. So I spent
literally an hour trying to find some exclusive women’s dunks, and these are
four somewhat decent pairs. But….typically….every pair has some form of pink in
them. Excuse me, but I fuckin hate pink, and that’s so sad that Nike believes
that every woman enjoys wearing the color pink. (Silently gags) And…. What is
the deal with zebra? Just because dumbass Heidi Montag thinks it’s the greatest
thing on the planet since boob jobs, it doesn’t mean every other girl does too.
I found probably 4 different versions with pink and zebra in them.
Ridiculous.  So… out of all the options
I’d go for the Thrashin or Premiums, definitely the Premiums if the souls were
orange.
