With the return of America’s Best Dance Crew, is it possible for any other dance crew to outshine the premiere season’s winners, the Jabbawockeez? Jabbas rep San Diego, but their crew is an amalgam of veteran dancers and choreographers up and down the West Coast.
However, DC representatives, Boogie Bots, Illinois’ Xtreme Dance Force, Philly’s Phresh Select, Houston’s SoReal Cru, and Cali’s Supreme Soul did bring their A game.
A lot of people are heated that Team Millennia didn’t advance, but there were too many crews that had that same style. The judges let Fanny Pak through because they had a different style, but nothing they put out was that difficult. And c’mon, letting Rutger’s Sass Times 7 advance? I mean granted they were cheerleaders with tight shorts on, but they get no respect at Rutger’s and none from me.
Boogie Bots had dope style playing off the robot-theme. Xtreme Dance Force had real tight timing and they came out with energy rivaling a power plant, but they just don’t have the image to take the title. I got to give props to my homies Ruckus and Lor on Phresh Select, they’re holding Philly down with clean moves. However, I gotta give it up to SoReal Cru and Supreme Soul. They’re the Kaba Modern and Jabbawockeez of Season Two.
What we really need on this show is more b-boys and more respect for b-boys (and b-girls). A lot of it is choreographed gimmicks. In the end, Supreme Soul will take it and how sick would that be to see them battle Jabbawockeez for the real title… bragging rights.
Here are some vids of Supreme Soul vs. Jabbawockeez:
Supreme Soul is a spin-off of Soul Sector which is the group battling Jabbawockeez and the rest of the SoCal All-Stars.
