Fashion: In My Flyy Tee

| Tuesday, December 30, 2008
I’ve realized recently that I need to stock up on more t-shirts. What makes this task impossible is that I’m all about exclusivity. I hate rocking what another chick has on and wearing t-shirts is so universal. But I’ve found some lines which cater to my taste: femine, sexy, and just flyy. I’ll let you in on my secret:

“Obsession” tee
The site has re-launched with a new holiday collection. This line caters to the ladies who know they are rated a ten. The name alone is reason for me to want to rock it.

Lesson #2: Come Correct

| Tuesday, December 09, 2008
This lesson is for the guys: holler at a girl with caution. Don’t be disrespectful or make an ass out of yourself within the first minutes of meeting her, it really is not a good look. (Cute guys, you are not an exception so take heed as well.)

Anyways, I love Keri Hilson so I had to show y’all real talent and Lil Wayne goes hard on this song. However, I want this to be Weezy’s last feature on someone’s song this year but we all know THAT ain’t gonna happen. The video is simple, kind of reminiscent of Destiny’s Child “Soldier” and there are some sexy shirtless dudes in the video for my ladies. You’re welcome!

When I Grow Up I Want to Be: As bold As Janelle Monae

| Friday, October 31, 2008
This girl is hot, reminiscent of a female Andre Benjamin. She came to Boston University recently to speak about not fitting into the mold and I am still slightly resentful of missing her. Her music is weird, out of this world, but so necessary. She has even garnered the attention of heavyweights such as Big Boi and Diddy. (People will probably recognize her more now from her guest appearance on “I Want to Work for Diddy,” but if so, please don’t admit that. Just say you heard it here first.) So, if you weren’t up on her before, there’s no excuse now.

Lesson #1: Embrace Independence

| Tuesday, October 14, 2008

I’m the newest member of the Amalgam Digital blog team. My approach will be speaking to the hip hop ‘wifeys,’ those who are in love with the culture but go largely unrecognized. We love music, rappers, fashion, traveling, and luxury. Female rappers don’t really speak for us since they are usually either whores or masculine, so that’s where I come in! (Guys, you can skip over my posts if they are too feminine for you.)

My first blog is important. It’s the cardinal rule for all of the effortlessly flyy girls: being a gold-digger is so not cute. Yes we would all love to have a man with as much stature as Mr. Carter, himself. But nothing is sexier than a lady who ‘is complement to her man’s swag’ or, as Fabolous so eloquently put it, “don’t just ride, she’ll pull up beside of me.”
