Well..well..well,
I am proud to say that the ladies are holdin their shit down lately. I heard
Paper Planes by M.I.A about 3 or 4 months ago, and was absolutely obsessed for
a month straight. And then It just recently got put into the Pineapple Express
trailer and BAM all of the mainstream losers out there ate it up and now it’s
the number song on iTunes. Don’t you just love how that shit works (sarcasm).
Not to mention that M.I.A came out with Galang like years ago, and is only
getting credit now. I really hope that people go out and buy the album because
the whole thing is hot, only a few disappointments.
And then
there’s Santogold. Whom I personally favor over M.I.A. My favorite songs are
Starstruck, Shov It (remix), and Find
A Way (remix). The two sounds are pretty similar,
but Santogold is pure Brooklyn. I’ve been
listening consistently for about a couple months and it does not get old. The
album is amazing! Every song is unique and every beat is so hot.
And now…I
give you Kid Sister. A newbie to the scene, but she has already caught the
attention of Kanye and his DJ A-Trak. The trio teamed up to make the remix for
Pro Nails. I do like the beat, but I’m not obsessed. Kanye’s verse is amazing
as usual. She has a unique vibe, If I had to put her in the ranks with someone
it would most likely be Lil Mama. So check it out…I’d like to know what you
think. Do you think she’s going to make noise or flop?

So my last two blogs have been specifically geared towards women, so I
figured I’d keep it up because it’s a nice aspect to the blog. I’m not a
hardcore feminist or anything but us women deserve some attention too. I’ve
been shopping around for some Nike SB Dunk Highs lately and sadly realized that
there aren’t too many specifically women releases. It is possible to own a pair
of men’s, if you didn’t already know, you can find your size in men’s by
subtracting a size and a half. This is also somewhat difficult to deal with
because that would make me a size 7, and you cannot find ANY size 7’s in any
boutique anywhere. Ordering offline is out of the question because any
collector knows that the mark up is absolutely ridiculous online. So I spent
literally an hour trying to find some exclusive women’s dunks, and these are
four somewhat decent pairs. But….typically….every pair has some form of pink in
them. Excuse me, but I fuckin hate pink, and that’s so sad that Nike believes
that every woman enjoys wearing the color pink. (Silently gags) And…. What is
the deal with zebra? Just because dumbass Heidi Montag thinks it’s the greatest
thing on the planet since boob jobs, it doesn’t mean every other girl does too.
I found probably 4 different versions with pink and zebra in them.
Ridiculous. So… out of all the options
I’d go for the Thrashin or Premiums, definitely the Premiums if the souls were
orange.

So I was surfing through MySpace music the other day to see who the top
rated hip-hop artists were. What I found actually made me puke in my mouth a
little. The number one female hip-hop artist is none other than Ms. Tila
Tequilla. Are you serious? People actually listen to that crap. So I decided to
take a little listen to see where all the hype was coming from, I thought maybe
she actually is good. Well sorry folks… she is absolutely terrible. And no
offense Tila lovers but her face looks likes she’s been run over by an
18-wheeler a few times. Wow that felt good to vent out.
So on to more important business, where are all the TALENTED female rappers
at? It’s almost as if they’re nonexistent anymore. This makes me really sad. So
I’m going to do a little recap on who I believe are some of the most talented
female rappers of our time. Unfortunately they are all getting old and will
most likely retire soon. So I’m hoping this post will inspire some amazing
female MC ‘s to get off their asses and More...

Why hello there, my name is Dre and I am the most recent
face of the Amalgam Digital bloggers. If you look to the right hand side of your
screen you can scan over my bio and get to know a little bit about me. Recently
I had a great opportunity to interview Doug Cohen the president of the Flud
watch line. Check them out!
Doug is a down to earth guy and very true to his
passion. In the past he made a huge impact on the DJ world with his event
TableTurns in NYC. I was very impressed with his story and now he’s brought his
passion into the world of exclusive urban accessories. I happen to have a part
time job at a costume jewelry store and when I first looked over the line I was
pleasantly surprised to see that this stuff is fresh and nothing like you’ve
ever seen before. His top seller the TableTurns named after his popular DJ get
together is one of the most attractive. If I was a DJ I would be running my ass
down to Karmaloop to get one asap, it’s a More...
