When I Grow Up I Want to Be: As bold As Janelle Monae

Friday, October 31st, 2008

This girl is hot, reminiscent of a female Andre Benjamin. She came to Boston University recently to speak about not fitting into the mold and I am still slightly resentful of missing her. Her music is weird, out of this world, but so necessary. She has even garnered the attention of heavyweights such as Big Boi and Diddy. (People will probably recognize her more now from her guest appearance on “I Want to Work for Diddy,” but if so, please don’t admit that. Just say you heard it here first.) So, if you weren’t up on her before, there’s no excuse now.

Trick Trick Denies Protecting Eminem, Grounds Daughter For Wearing Yung Berg Chain

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

From XXLmag.com

Lil Wayne can’t get an Eminem verse, but Trick Trick sure can. Amid
rumors that he’s providing protection for Em in exchange for guest
verses, production and an unofficial co-sign, Trick Trick took time to
talk with XXLMag.com to clear up the speculations.

Em has always been selective with collaborations, but Trick has been
fortunate enough to spit alongside his fellow Detroiter on “Welcome To
Detroit City” and more recently on “Who Want It.” Legend has it that Trick may have provided muscle for Slim in the past, allegedly running former Source honcho Raymond “Benzino” Scott out of Detroit when he rode around the city digging for dirt on the rapper a few years back.

“That’s some bullshit,” Trick told XXLMag.com. “If you fuck
with him I’ll bust your head but it’s not like I’m just protecting him.
That’s my friend. I ride for all my friends.”

Trick once again found himself in the middle of goon business when
reports spread that he snatched Yung Berg’s Autobot chain in a scuffle
at Plan B nightclub in Detroit last summer. Pictures of his friends, his brother
and even his daughter rocking the chain floated all over the internet
after he repeatedly denied involvement in the fight. He did confirm
that the pictures were real, however.

“My daughter was properly grounded for that,” Trick revealed. “I had
put the chain up in my house and I didn’t put it so far up. Then my
daughter decide she want to take pictures with it before she go to
school.”

Trick Trick’s The Villain (Koch) featuring guest
appearances by Ice Cube, Royce Da 5’9″ and production by Eminem  and
Dr. Dre, hits stores November 11th. -Michael Cohen

The Last Dragon Remake In Works

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

From HipHopDx

Reuters reports RZA and Dallas Jackson are co-producing a remake of Berry Gordy's cult classic martial arts film, The Last Dragon. Few details have emerged thus far, but Samuel L. Jackson has confirmed he will reprise the part of Sho'nuff the Shogun of Harlem. Dallas Jackson, whose previous film works include production on I, Robot and Norbit, is currently writing the script.

"I'm a huge fan of the original and look forward to bringing Sho'Nuff into the 21st century," says Jackson.

The as-yet-untitled project will be included as part of Motown's 50th anniversary next year. After its release in 1985, the original Last Dragon grossed nearly $26 million. There is currently no word on if RZA will score the film as well. The Wu-Tang Clan's primary beatsmith has previously scored Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill and also Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai. RZA and Samuel L. Jackson will also be working on the sequel to the Anime movie Afro Samurai, which is expected to be released in 2009.

RIP to Julius Carry who passed this August due to pancreatic cancer.

FREE ADVICE: How To Become A Famous Blogger Through Rap

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

So little do you guys know, I am also a rapper. No forreal guys I swear. Not only do a I go to Shul but I also don't eat cheeseburgers, wake up at 9 and let my dog out, and write rhymes in my spare time. SO much spare time in fact, I have managed to land in URB magazine with "Freestyle vs Written" and recieve 4 out of 5 stars in URB MAGAZINE. (yeah…that 1 and half star higher than NELLY)

with SKILLS LIKE THIS… [more]

You figure I should be signed to Amalgam!!!…but I guess for now I will only be signed on as a blogger.
Unfortunately, you cannot sell these blogs for 5/10 dollars a piece. (1 dollar per paragraph as the "single")
Although I think that by writing, people today want to know the person behind the music. So as of now ladies and Amalgamen
I would like to take a consensus for Joe Budden to blog about his grocery shopping.

Why?

It will lead to new market album sales. Yeah all th e-nerdy weird depressed guys who love my music will all of a sudden like his because he blogs. He also needs to play SXSW. Bun B did.

So yeah…late again to this meeting while I write a blog, but yo…give me props

I was in page 26 of Spin Magazine 9th line down to the left side 42 degrees lattitude 3 5/7 inches down to left crease exactly…
But in Hip Hop…who pays attention to the details anyway??

Now if you see my album in stores (which is mostly online..order it)!!

Suppot your rapping bloggers!..and blog about our rapping while we rap about our blogging.

:) xoxoxoox Kosha

Kosha Dillz in his spare time loves to drink coffee, attend rap shows, put "OY VEY ALL DAY" stickers up and sing in the shower without the water on.
